Ty began driving electric go-karts at age 2, gas powered go-karts at age 3, and quarter midgets at age 4. He began racing quarter midgets in the USAC and QMA series at age 5.

It did not take Ty long to make his mark in quarter midget racing. He won multiple races in his first season, and scored a runner-up finish in the 2009 season ending 'Little 500' against the best racers in the country. 

Ty has won races and championships in the JR Honda, Light 160, and Light World Formula divisions. Ty has also won the JR Honda track championship and JR Honda Florida State championship. In his 2012 championship season Ty won 17 of his 20 starts.

Ty has raced all over the country including National races at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney World, the Little 500 in New Smyrna Beach, FL, the Grand's at Wall Stadium, NJ, and at the Battle at the Brickyard in Indianapolis, IN.

In addition to racing, Ty enjoys playing baseball and basketball. He is the starting catcher on his baseball team and starting point guard on his basketball team. He also loves to ride dirt bikes, four-wheeler's, BMX bikes, and scooters. Ty also likes to bow hunt for deer and turkey with his dad. 

Ty has retired from quarter midget racing and has now moved in to a winged sprint car racing in a Factor 1 mini sprint. Ty races for automotive lead to conversion company BDC Bandits. www.BDCBandits.com
